What it is

Running Board Installation, done right.

Once a truck is lifted or on bigger tires, climbing in gets old fast. The right step fixes that — and the choice matters. Running boards give a wide, full-length platform; nerf bars and side steps are lighter with a sportier look; power running boards drop down when a door opens and tuck away for clearance; rock sliders protect the rockers on the trail and double as a step. We match the step to your cab, lift height and how you use the truck, mount it to the factory points where available and wire powered boards cleanly.

Why it’s worth it

The payoff.

Easier entry

A solid step makes climbing into a lifted truck or tall cab easy for everyone, not just the driver.

Fitted to your cab

Cab length, lift height and tire size all change which step fits — we match it before ordering.

Power boards wired right

Powered boards deploy with the doors and tuck away, wired cleanly into the truck.

Rocker protection

Rock sliders and heavy-duty steps take trail hits so your rocker panels don’t.

Bed & hitch access

Hitch steps and bed steps make it easier to reach into the bed and load gear.

One trip, whole build

Pair steps with a lift, wheels or a bed cover and get it all done in one visit.

Straight answers

Running Boards & Steps FAQ.

Running boards or nerf bars — what’s the difference?

Running boards are wide and flat, giving a full-length platform that’s easy for anyone to step on. Nerf bars are tubular — lighter, sportier and usually more affordable, with step pads by the doors. If the whole family climbs in, boards; if you want a clean, light look, nerf bars.

Are power running boards worth it?

For lifted trucks and anyone who wants maximum clearance, often yes — they drop down when a door opens and tuck up out of the way when you drive. They cost more and have a motor, so fixed boards still make sense for plenty of trucks. We’ll help you weigh it.

Do running boards work on a lifted truck?

Yes, but lift height matters — a step that sits too high defeats the purpose. We match drop steps or power boards to the lift so the step lands where you actually need it.

Do you have to drill to install them?

On most newer trucks, running boards and steps bolt to factory mounting points without drilling. Some older trucks or specific steps need it — we’ll tell you before we start.

How long does installation take?

Most bolt-on running boards and nerf bars are done in a few hours; power running boards take longer because of the wiring. We’ll give you a timeline when you book.

Where are you located?

We’re in Rockwall, TX, and outfit trucks and Jeeps for customers from Heath, Rowlett, Royse City, Fate and Forney. Tell us where you’re coming from when you request a quote and we’ll set up a time.
